Santosh Choubey, born on 22 September 1955 in Khandwa, a small town in Madhya Pradesh (India), is the Chancellor of Dr. C.V. Raman University and Rabindranath Tagore University and the President of AISECT Network, State Resource Centre, Vanmali Srijan Peeth and Tagore International Literature and Arts Centre.
Poet, storyteller, novelist Santosh Choubey is one of those rare Hindi writers who are equally active in literature and science. His seven story collections, three novels, four poetry collections have been published and have been in the centre of discussions. His stories have been staged at Bharat Bhavan and National School of Drama and they have been continuously published in all the top newspapers and magazines of the country. Story collections: हल्के रंग की कमीज, रेस्टोरेंट में दोपहर, नौ बिंदुओं का खेल, बीच प्रेम में गांधी, मगर शेक्सपियर को याद रखना, ग़रीब नवाज़ and प्रतिनिधि कहानियाँ। Novels: Raag Kedar, Kya Pata Comrade Mohan, Jaltaranga and Sapno Ki Duniyan Main Black Hole . Kavita Sangharya : Kahin Aur Sach Honge Sapne, Kona Dharti Ka, Is A Kavi Samay Main and Ghar-Baher. His translations of Terry Eagleton, Fredric Jameson, Water Benjamin, Odysseus Elytis and E-F- Schumacher are published in the name of 'Writer and Commitment', 'Moscow Diary' and 'Bharamit Aadmi Ke Liye Ek Kitab'. He has edited 'Vanmali Samagra' in two volumes, three books of ideological prose focusing on stories and novels, 'Aakhyan Ka Antarik Sankat', 'Upannyas Ki Nayi Parampara' and 'Kahani: Swapna Aur Yatharth'. Two critical books 'Kala Ki Sangat' and 'Apne Samay Mein' are also published. Editor in Chief of ElectronikiAapke Liye, Rang Samvad, Vanmali Katha and Vishwa Rang samvad. He has edited 'Kathadesh', a collection of stories of more than six hundred story writers from across the country in eighteen volumes and is the chief editor of 'Katha Bhopal' focusing on more than one hundred seventy five story writers from Bhopal and 'Vigyan Katha Kosh', a collection of more than 200 science fiction stories of the world in Hindi. He is the director of the Vishwarang festival. Launched in Bhopal in 2019 with 15 countries, Vishwarang now has 65 member countries.
